Is it possible to come to Vietnam and secure a reasonable job with no CELTA, but with a degree and tons of experience teaching ESL abroad (roughly 6 years)?

sorry but the current situation in vietnam means new comers are having a difficult time finding work. i would say without a CELTA and being a newcomer, finding decent work at a good school and for decent pay would be difficult.
with that much experience, you might consider Japan or korea.

Thank you for replying....

Actually, I'm trying to get out of Korea. I've been here for six years and really need to move on. I suppose I'll just have to get my CELTA. I know so many people that have it that tell me it is such a waste of money (for actual practical purposes). Can I do it online, is that just as appreciated?

Thanks again,
Heather

Celtas cannot be done online.

what's the "current situation" that makes finding employment difficult? I'm planning to move to saigon in a couple of weeks, and reading this is a bit unnerving. while in vietnam a year ago on vacation, it seemed quite easy to find good paying work. has something changed that i should know about?
