Is it possible to come to Vietnam and secure a reasonable job with no CELTA, but with a degree and tons of experience teaching ESL abroad (roughly 6 years)? |

sorry but the current situation in vietnam means new comers are having a difficult time finding work. i would say without a CELTA and being a newcomer, finding decent work at a good school and for decent pay would be difficult.
with that much experience, you might consider Japan or korea. |

Thank you for replying....
Actually, I'm trying to get out of Korea. I've been here for six years and really need to move on. I suppose I'll just have to get my CELTA. I know so many people that have it that tell me it is such a waste of money (for actual practical purposes). Can I do it online, is that just as appreciated?
Thanks again,

what's the "current situation" that makes finding employment difficult? I'm planning to move to saigon in a couple of weeks, and reading this is a bit unnerving. while in vietnam a year ago on vacation, it seemed quite easy to find good paying work. has something changed that i should know about? |
