|
|
Hi folks,
I'm coming out your way in June and here's the question. If my employer doesn't come to the party I may have to get my final pay cheque posted to Thailand. Don't suppose I could bank the cheque in a Thai bank?
Cheers,
The wizard from Oz |

yes you can if you dont mind a loooong wait, a charge for depositing a non baht cheque............
IF you can, put it into a bank account at home rather than thailand. |

Yeah I think it can take like 2 months to clear and there probably will be a charge as well (not 100% sure....will try to find out). |

Presumably, you will open a Thai Baht bank account when you get here. You can also operate a US Dollar account for when you go abroad. You should have no problem depositing your dollar-denominated check. The check will have to be cleared (eventually) in the US, which could take a couple of weeks. There will be a small fee for this - probably in than $5-15 range, depending upon how greedy your bank is. |
