Can anyone out there give me an idea about what kind of questions are expected in a CELTA Interview? How can I prepare for it? Thanks!

What's a CELTA interview?

Do you mean the interview to get onto a CELTA course?
If so, it's been about 12 years since I did one but here are a few things I can remember:

There were two parts - the written paper and the interview. I was here at the time and was applying for a summer course at home, so both were done over the phone (which made the written part very easy because I had the grammar book on the table!)

After they had discussed my answers to the written (grammar) paper they asked me questions such as:

Why do people learn languages?
Why are your students learning English?
What do you think of group work?
Do you think all 4 skills should be taught equally in a general English course?
What are the particular areas of difficulty for Arabic learners?
How do you deal with them?
Do stress and intonation cause problems? If so, any examples?
What is the best way to find out what your students' needs are?
In your opinion, what is a good method of teaching a language?
What discipline problems have you encountered and how have you dealt with them?
What should be included in a good lesson plan?

As I said, it's been a long time, so maybe someone who has done it more recently will have more up to date suggestions!

Some CELTA providers have more scruples than others. Four years ago a friend and I both applied to do CELTA at International House Barcelona. We are both native speakers. I got accepted and he got rejected! They felt he had been out of the education system too long and he didn't have a university degree.
