Hi, I've recently joined the eslcafe site. I'm planning on moving to CR by mid/late summer. I'd like to get your views on the schools that offer either of the above courses. I was planning on taking the TEFL course in New York this month. However, I've spoken to a few people who have taken them in San Jose and/or Manuel Antonio. Has anyone taken the course in CR? Would you recommend going about it the same way? Is one considered more advanced than the other in this region?

Cheers,
Brian Very Happy

I strongly suggest the celta or sit course in costa rica. Do your research and beware of anything less than the quality those courses offer.

Tefl is a generic term. Some courses offer quality training; some not so. The advantages of Celta and Trinity Tesol include independent invigilation and internationally recognition. A 4 week course including at least 6 hrs of observed lesson practice is the minimum that you should aim for, if you can afford it.
