Hey there, I am just wondering if anyone has any experience with this school, as I am thinking of moving out west from Toronto to teach(I have CELTA + three years experience). I have read of other schools in the area, such as pan pacific and a few others, like LSC. Can anyone recommend any of these? Is teaching in Vancouver a viable and sustainable option or is the money not very good? Thanks for any help or information. Take care. |

My understanding is that it's difficult to find full-time work in the Vancouver market. You can pick up part-time contracts, tutoring, etc. and piece together perhaps 20 to 25 hours per week of work at $18 to $20 per hour. You'll spend a lot of time commuting and running around.
If you have an MA a few more doors are opened for you and you might land a full-time job.
EDIT
I noticed this recent posting on craigslist...

$18 CN per hour, 25 hours per week. That's a pretty good gig for ESL work in Vancouver. $450 (-deductions) doesn't go that far in Vancouver... |
