Or perhaps the school only wants experimental, post modern English for its young minds bored of industrial strength English.

"Our school, and every other school we can farm you out to, is in Jilin. We have an electronic dictionary - that's the limits of the school's resources and technology. Starting August 20th, you will teach 20 hours a day, Monday through Friday. You will have weekends off...from teaching. Every Saturday and Sunday, you will be on parade or performing wonderful extra-curricular activities for us (with no pay - culture is its own reward) at local malls. Your contract should be one year, but it will be 10 months, or less, to ensure that we don't have to give you that wonderful 1-year bonus or airfare. Pay is 4500 RMB a month minus taxes and other (at our discretion) deductions. Students are whoever shows up in your class. Please be white!
It's been a slice!"

Cheers!

Yes, Malsol (the ESL Cafe's version of Spam), anyone can decipher that.
Edited due to failing eyesight (not insight)...darn old age.

And, yes, I can decipher it, too. I am in China, and have been for a few years, and have been exposed to all manners of mangled English. I merely posted the above as a diversion, something for the amusement of all who have realized, or have yet to, just what a farce the ESL industry in China often is, and how it can both lighten and burden the heart.

Now, I'm not complaining; I roll with the absurdities, and often take great delight in them when my mood is right. I just wanted to share the linguistically liberating job offer I had received, and see if anyone might respond with like Delightful Absurdities for comparison.

Just a break, for a moment, from the Great Wage Debates. I'll make sure in the future not to make such a ridiculous post.
