After a lil research it seems that its a tough shot to get a work visa in CR. Seeing as I'm not in the country and have never been I'm in hopes that someone might be able to convince me of otherwise. Or if there are ways around it?

much love

yes, it is difficult to get a work visa, that is why we all work on tourist visas.
Rumours are flying around like usual and some have more fiction than fact and it is hard to get a straight answer from anyone in authority.

BUT what i understand is that the border crossings (every 90 days) will be scrutinized more closely. They want to stop this from continuing but will it be the English speaking people (Cdns , Americans, Brits, etc. ) or will they just watch the Panamanians and Nicas closer, who knows? How many crossings will they consider too many? 2, 3, 10???

I have also been told that the govt now admits that they need us to do certain jobs, i.e. teaching and that they will lighten up on the rules to get a work visa.

As i said, many different rumours , many different ideas. What i do know is that this is Central America and nothing happens here over night. The rules will not change and be enforced in one months time.
relax, and good luck.
pura vida
