There are few to no teaching positions in or around Kenting!. However there are opportunities for dive instructors, tour guides, fishing guides and the like.
Ken ting is the most popular beach area on Taiwan it is not a "nice" beach area. Ken ting tends to be very crowded, dirty and dangerous. It also has one of the oldest and more dangerous nuclear power plants located a stones throw from the beach. The dome from the reactor often ruins many good pictures of the horizon. Try getting out of the main town and head out to the outlying beaches.
Good luck!

Some cities in the south that have teaching positions are closeby to Kenting. Pingtung and Kaohsiung, for example, are 1.5 to 2 hours of a drive to the beach. It's not that far and the drive is beautiful once you hit the coast!
I am leaving the country soon and I live in Pingtung, working for a western boss. My job will be up for grabs in a week or so. PM me if you want me to give you details! |

It is true there are literally no teaching jobs in Kenting. Although PingTung is probably a better place to look but it is still slim picking I would say. Kaoshiung would be a better place to look for work and still be close to Kenting.

The nicest beaches I've seen in Taiwan are on Penghu and the surrounding islands (particularly Chibei). It takes a 3 hour boat ride or a 30 minute plane ride to get there, but once you see those beaches, it's worth it. The water there is also surprisingly clean! |

i have seen a lot of postings for jobs in Kaohsiung...a few to consider...
connectkaohsiung - always job postings there, best K-Town site
KNS - a smaller chain school, with a few branches around the city
ktown411 - a newer message board, not a lot of activity, but some[/url] |
