Hello everyone,
I've been reading about the possibilities of getting a passport stamp at Iguaz, and there are a lot of "I hear"s and "I wouldn't"s, but not too many real-life experiences. I am an American without a visa to Brazil, and with the lax customs situation it sounds complicated.
I will be at Iguaz this weekend, with a day or so of flexible time, and would love to get my passport stamped for *reentrance into Argentina* while I'm up there.
My question, then, is: has anyone tried to get OR successfully gotten an Argentine passport stamp during a trip up to Iguazu?
Might an in-and-out to Paraguay be an option? Is there a way to make it work with Brazil?
I'd appreciate any advice or experience anyone can offer!
Saludos,
Michael |

I went to Brazil for a few hours a few months ago. They didn't stamp my passport with a Brazil enterance or exit stamp only for the Arg side.
If you go to Paraguay from Iguazu you have to pass through Brazil or cross at Encarnacin which is near the city of Posadas in Misiones. If you are planning to stay any time in Paraguay or Brazil (and get your passport stamped) as a US citizen you have to have a visa for both countries. |

Thanks Sheena! But I wasn't entirely clear on your response. I understand that you got no entrance or exit stamps for Brazil, but what I wonder is...
...did you get a REENTRACE stamp for returning to Argentina? Thats what I'm after. |
