Hi I'm new to this and saw this post up in the international job listings.
http://www.eslcafe.com/joblist/index.cgi?read=11835
Can anybody tell me if they have done this one before and if it's a good offer or not?
Thanks |

Paywise it is way too low. Most teachers usually earn twice that much. Some of these camps can be good opportunities though others are more reminiscent of slave labour. I know from a previous teacher in one of these camps that the pay scale is set from who is doing the recruiting and how much profit they want to get. She got more than $22000 NT a week for a four day camp. She was also working alongside other foreigners who got one third less for the same work. And by the same recruiter to boot.
I am quite in favour of this summer work, illegal or not. Just be cautious when offered a lower than averge wage. |
