Hey Everyone,
Can someone please tell me what they think about this information from a recruiter?
They offered me a standard contract and a benefit agreement that gives me more money. Here is what they said.. I dont know if it makes sense:
"The reason for having a benefit agreement separate from the standard contract was for two reasons. The first reason was to ensure that all POLY campuses were paying a minimum of 1.6 Million won as a minimum salary, and then, based on experience, qualifications, and other benefits such as housing, more could be added on top through the benefits agreement. Secondly, it was a means to save taxes both for the teacher and campus. Since only the standard contract is submitted into immigration when applying for the teacher's E2 Visa, tax would only be paid from the 1.6 Million won as opposed to the entire 2.2 Million won salary. I hope this clarifies the difference between the salary and benefit agreement."
This sounds kind of fishy doesnt it?
