Can Canadian citizens get teaching jobs in Africa? Are they easy to find? Are the working and living conditions usually good? What is the pay like?

There are lots of jobs for qualified Canadian citizens and they are pretty easy to find and the pay depends on where you want to teach. Sorry to be so vague but Africa is a large continent. Very Happy

Vague questions get vague answers. To carry on with generalizations, the reason it's easy to get jobs in much of Africa is that no-one, not even locals, will take teaching jobs where they can't count on getting paid! This is the case in such countries as Zimbabwe and Congo.

Furthermore ... and still generalizing ... sub-Saharan Africa is a pretty dangerous place for a single white western female. (I'm making an assumption here.) If you really want to go, you'll more likely find something suitable in northern Africa. But then it helps if you can speak French. Can you? If so, see the posts on Morocco. As far as southern Africa goes, Botswana is probably your best bet, but I haven't seen any ads for positions there.
