Yes, and they vary from campus to campus. If you have already worked in this type of system it is not any better or worse. Working in the K-12 schools is what you make of it.
Only suggestion I would have is to not teach the 8th grade. It seems they are the worst of the lot at all the schools. Something to do with an exam they take, so English is the last thing they are thinking about after their hormones, friends, turkish classes, and this EXAM!
If you take the kindergarten position be warned that you will probably have to provide your own materials and curriculum. They say they are going to have something this coming year, but we will see. |

A friend of mine worked in (I think) the Acibadem branch for a couple of years and it was fine.
I interviewed at the Florya (Bilgi Kağan) branch and they were really weird-- I was applying for the high school and I'd made this clear, but the woman who interviewed me kept insisting how much I would like working in kindergarten and primary. I kept insisting that I had no experience, training, or inclination for this, and she told me it would be fun because I could do drama classes. I told her I didn't like children or drama.
Nonetheless, I was offered a position there.... |

I worked in the Goztepe school for around three years. If your on your own they give you a nice flat in Kozyatat. Pay always on time and the rate now is around $1300-1800 depending on exp. There are around 12 Istek schools all over the city. Some are great others are cr*p. It all depends on which school you get poasted to and what your head of dept is like... |
