Is this the King Fahad Military Medical Center in Dammam ?

There are better places to work. You won't get rich there.

This is the place where two British nurses murdered one of their Australian colleagues. Moneylending and sexual relationships were involved. Not a happy place to work. Miles out of town.

Didn't that happen about 10 years ago? I heard that at that time the hospital was over 6 months in arrears in paying staff salaries.

It is on the Abqaiq road about 20mins south of Khobar and i worked there for two years sbout 8 years ago.

Actually it was a very easy gig. They pay on time and you get about 8 weeks hols a year.
It is the College of Health Sciences that you would be working at which is attached to the hospital DMC.

It is boring out there and a bit isloated but there are definitely much worse gigs in Saudi.
They issued me a LNO and also they did for a few other guys i worked with who went on to bigger and better things at BA.

You can get a job there with just a degree plus cert so it is a good gig for an intro to Saudi. I did my masters there so all in all i reckon idepending on your circumstances not a bad option at all.
There are a few teachers who are still there from my day i believe.

Mark's reply is pretty accurate, although there are seven weeks -- not eight -- annual vacation. There is no work to do outside working hours. Very Happy
Being here thirty kilometers from town and out in desert, one must bring personal projects to work on in order to stay busy and not get bored -- study for a master's, study a language, whatever. Cool
There is a reasonably good shop on the base, (crowded) buses to town, and a taxi fare to town of 25-30 riyals. Good workout facilities, although some of them are not in a good state of repair/upkeep. Sad
Some people have been here a long time, although many are newbies...it requires planning and personal projects to stay happy out here, relatively far from town.
That being said, Bahrain is only an hour away by bus or taxi.

Is this Aussie Mark who went to BAE? Question

Yes, both Paul and Charles are here. Paul is HoD, but retiring later this year. Charles keeps saying every year will be his last, but he has been here since 1998. Exclamation

I returned earlier this year.

Any news on Jon (MOD edit)?
