I am currenrly working as a teacher in Dubai, have been offered a post in Singapore about the same salary. I am aware I will have to pay taxes in Singapore so my salary will be 10% less right?

Can anyone advice on camparing lifestyles in both places I am single female.

Also living costs?

My guess is that you may also have to provide your own accommodation in Singapore? If so, a fairly expensive proposition. That vs the free housing that is usually offered in the UAE and ME.

I would FAR prefer life in Singapore to any part of the ME, but that's just me.

As a female - you can expect a fairly normal and enjoyable life in Singapore. I can't/won't comment on a UAE lifestyle for a female.

I've never lived in Singapore but have been in and out many times for a variety of reasons over the last 15 years. I love the place.

All the myths and stereotypes about the place are pretty much BS. Nice people, good mix of people and cultures, clean, safe, first world - I would retire there if I could afford it.

Disclaimer: I spent five years in the ME and don't miss the underlying tension and uptightness that is there - even when pretended that it isn't. Nor did my wife enjoy it. You just won't find that in Singapore. Sorry - that's just me . . .
