Me again. Another little curious question for you.

How�s the slang treating you?

I�d like to hear some of the slang from the different cities around here. With the population size of the country and the endless double entendres that exist I�d like to hear what the other terms are!

For Monterrey I can offer a few. Maybe some will make you laugh or not!

Here we go:


Regio/Regia = someone that was born in Monterrey
Naco/Naca = "ghetto" or "hick" as used in the US and Canada
Fresa = yuppie, someone full of themselves, high-nosed, blue-blooded
Inga = all the prepa girls mutter this term... basically it�s like "wuacala" (disgusting, gross)
Chilango/Chilanga=disdaining term used for people from Mexico City

That�s all I can offer for now. It�s been a long day and I�m only hanging around work to read this board. Time to go home, methinks!

que pasion, que hongos (que onda), quiubole, que hay, que pedo, que pecs
chale, wuacatela, no mames/manches, wey, ese, cagado(not as past participle of cagar), hechar un cake
chingon, chingao, chins, hechar un pedo, no hay pedo, chero,
joto(choto en veracruz), pun~al, puto/a, marimacha, chichifo, pipope,
el beso negro, wawis, cogidita, las nenas, el anillo, el chiquito, etc. etc. etc.

these are mostly vulgar (i suppose slang is vulgar by definition) so i'm not going to define them unless someone asks for specific words. i learned a lot while living in veracruz state where people throw these terms around quite comfortably. i think most of them are used throughout the country but some are much more a la moda in certain regions (there are many slang terms that are exclusively chilango, at least until they spread to smaller cities).

I think it's chilango slang meaning to make a rude gesture, but nobody's been able (or willing?) to tell me...

Can you offer translations of the aforementioned verbalisms? If
they's too rude and you don't want to publish them, please pee-ehm me so's I can understand...Don't know if either of you speak French, but if it interests you I am armed to the tooth in slang, vulgar or colloquial...
I'm preparing my first real immersion in Mexican culture and am not wearing a flack jacket so fire away.

Bronca - Problem
Tronca - Girly version of wey
Que ondita/ondis - Girly version of Que onda
Sacarle de la pastorela - to take someone's virginity (take someone out of the flock)
Habla bien pocho el espanol - to speak Spanish badly, usually said of Mexicans that grow up in the US or Mexicans that live in the US then come back and speak Spanish with an American accent.
Tiene pedos en la cabeza he/she has problems (farts in the head)
Chela, cheve, veronga - beer
Pachanga - party
Dormir la mona - to sleep it off
No le cuadra - he/she doesn't get it
Estoy sudando como una gordita borracha - I'm sweating like a fat little drunk girl
nalgas, pompis, nylons, nash - buttocks
loquero - a shrink
In San Luis nacos are called tecos
pendejeable - gullable
Que pedo con este wey? What's up with this guy?
codo - tight
Me voy a cambier el agua del canario - I'm going to the bathroom
chacotear - muck about, goof off, waste time
estar hasta la madre - to have had enough, to be fed up
saliste de guatemala para entrar en guatepeor - kind of like out of the frying pan into the fire
