Anyone know what the average salary is in Hunan at Uni for 16 periods?
Someone told me 3,000 RMB. Anyone working in Hunan or been there have any experience?

Forget about it. Do yourself, and everyone else, a favor by not accepting anything less than 4000 RMB per month.
Hunan is a wealthier province than mine, and has better food, too! No need to sell yourself short. |

| I am working in Changsha now for 4000 a month and thought it was a little low, but I am only teaching 14 to 16 hours a week and have abundant opportunities just around the corner for part time work. So my monthly salary is never under 10,000 and can be 15,000 or more if I want it to be. The state run universities around here seem to follow the time honored contract rules and offer just a few yuan above what they have to by law. Some of the private places offer 5,000 - 7,000, but you are working for them 25 - 30 hours a week too. Where are you looking in Hunan by the way, another laowai is always welcome around here. |
