I am moving to Taipei and my school is in the Tianmu area. I am not super rich so a 20,000 NT place is out of the question. I have looked on English web sites-( standard ones Tea Lit, TsuiMama, the paper, numerous agents etc. Now I have a week to find a place and am getting quite frustrated! I have had a Taiwanese friend look at other sites and have only seen a few places. I woud prefer to live alone but will share if necessary- how did everyone find their place???- |

Move into a hostel for your first week or two. When you visit your school have a walk around the local high, junior high and elementary schools. There will be big billboards with lots of little notices up advertising for tenents. Parks are another good option for this. Take a Taiwanese friend, perhaps someone from work, as probably all of these ads with be in Chinese. I guess your Taiwanese friend has already checked out 104.com. |

I'm not sure how rich you are, but check out the local realators. However, when talking with them, don't mention what school you go to... make up something like Chinese Cultural University or some local school. People around here tend to jack up the prices if they know you go to a private school. |
