I have recently completed the SIT TESOL course here in Barcelona Spain which I would recommend to anyone interested in gaining certification. I am planning on going to DF in September to look for work. I am in the process of getting my documents in order and have friends I can stay with there while I search. Of course I'd prefer to find something before I arrive.
Any advice on job hunting in DF before I arrive and/or once I get there?
i.e. employers you may recommend, job leads you may have.
Also, anyone currently teaching in DF I'd love to make contact with you and just chat about your experience there?
Thanks for your time,
Kevin

Hey Kevin,

As a Canadian wanting to teach in Mexico, I too wanted to try and line something up before the move for security reasons. I invested a great deal of time and money (including two trips down here for interviews) and, ultimately, ended up with very little secure.

The thing I have learned is that Mexicans are a face to face people and it is nearly impossible to get a commitment out of a language school before you set foot in the city. That being said, opportunities abound once you are here - it took me four days to start teaching, and I've been scouted seven times already in the last two weeks. A

I'm brand new here (I arrived July 12) but I'll help you in any way I can.
