|
|
I want to email my friend using my Hotmail account to his Vodafone e-mail address.
Do you guys know if the e-mail goes through? I heard there might be some problems sending emails from specific domains. |

One hint - get your friend to email you from the mobile phone first to confirm the phone's address.
I email from my Vodafone to webmail accounts all the time. It's really fast and easy. The only part is, make sure that the person mailing to your phone doesn't use rich text - your phone likely won't view it.
Now, the coolest thing I've found - I email from phone to webmail to phone internationally. What we do is, I email from my phone to his webmail, and his webmail forwards selected messages (those that come from [email protected]) to his cel and he responds, then mails it to his webmail, and it's automatically forwarded to me. Whacky, but doable. According to Vodafone, you can email directly from a Vodafone to a foreign cel phone network, but his network on that end doesn't play well with Vodafone. |

Some people choose not to accept emails from computers, only from phones. If your friend has the option to accept all incoming mails, then just email away. If it's really important, just phone him. |

It's a monthly charge whether he wants his phone to be able to receive emails from a computer. Some plans have it included. It depends on the plan. Why don't you just try and send him an email? If he/she returns it, you know they can receive it. If they don't, then you can kick yourself for not phoning him/her. |

I tried emailing him but he isn't replying. I don't think he is ignoring me considering he voluntarily gave me his email for his phone last week.
And I can't call his phone because I don't have his number. |

It usually works. 1) select plaintext. 2) if in doubt, send message in subject line. Sometimes I can read the subject line only, and the body of the mail just says 'invalid message text'. The subject line is enough if you just want to send a how-you-doing-lets-get-together-for-a-beer-how-about-this-sunday type of message. |
