Hello. I'm in Hangzhou city right now teaching. Been here since March. I'm thinking about going to Hong Kong next year to teach however I'm of course doing research. Do I have any chance at all if I have 1 year of experience and a TESOL certification? Will it be best for a person in my situation to fly into Hong Kong and find a job as soon as I got there? Or is it best to line up a job online? Any government regulations a person should know? Thanks.

Without a degree, you may be restricted. I only know of a couple of kindergartens in Hong Kong who have an internship style program for those without a degree, but both of those kindergartens only employ females.
Howabout getting work in Shenzhen? As you are in China already, you are clearly employable on the mainland. Shenzhen is in such easy reach of Hong Kong, so you can have the 'best' of both worlds. |
