Anybody out there working as 'self-employed' even though you are doing a full week in one academy? Is this widespread? |

It's illegal. You should be an employee. Report it to the Inland Revenue. |

the situation is one of a consultant on a freelance basis employed to a temporary contract which means you are obliged to pay your own NI stamps and the employer has less paperwork and an easy escape from you if they don't like you or can get someone else for cheaper. It is common in the less reputable schools. The more reputable institutes have other means at their disposal to exploit you it is called part time or sessional working, no contract |

Yup, it's not illegal - it's something they'll tax you on differently if YOU WORK A FULL YEAR (financial) FOR ONLY ONE EMPLOYER. One week's neither here nor there. And if you work for somebody else (collecting glasses, scrubbing the floor), you'll probably be okay |
