Hi there,
Anyone know what the English teaching market is like in Siracusa for a fully qualified, native speaker EU citizen with about a year of teaching experience? Should one secure a job before arriving, or is it best to venture out there and search?
Thanks for reading!!!

Depends on your resources. I've just finished my first work here, which I only got after a few months (although I _was_ being very selective). Also I speak some Italian so am able to network reasonably. Give it a go if you can, and don't forget to try local training organisations, adult education etc. Just had a call from a local library which wants to go ahead on a basic English course, so spread your wings wide. Even tourist development agencies have a training budget. |
