Hello All:

This is my first post on this board, although I have been reading it for weeks.

I am coming to Thailand in just a couple weeks. I do have a degree, a TESL certificate and one years experience in Vietnam. I am hoping to get work in Hat Yai or Songkhla what are the prospects like in that area around the end of June?

Also, I am planning on arriving in Kuala Lumpur (to visit a friend) then go overland to Songkhla province. Are there any problems with that plan?

Thanks for any help members here can provide.

The prospects would seem quite good at this moment in time. Go check out the job board on this very site, they are looking for English teachers in both of those places.

I am living in songkhla now. Personally, I would avoid getting a job in Hat Yai since it is almost like another BKK.........polluted, too much traffic........etc.......

I would try Samilla beach. Its a nice area.

Hi,
This is the first time I have used this too. I am thinking of coming to Songkhla in September. I am in China at the mo. I need to find a job before I get there though cos I can't really afford to not too. I have a degree and I am currently teaching English. The problem is I do not have a tefl. Does this really make a difference?

Can anyone give me a tip on a good place to apply please? I also need a place that would supply housing at least until I was paid. If you can give me all this information I would be really grateful. Thanks Sophie
