[quote="currentaffairs"]When I was a student I worked for EF at summer camps in the south of England. They were okay. If you are just graduating or in need of some cash in the summer then EF could be a reasonable option.. It is not really a 50 hour week because if you are on activities then you only teach in the morning making 15 hours of teaching per week plus lots of beach volleyball and trips to the zoo".

Current experience at July 2015 - teachers are required to teach lessons morning AND afternoon (ie. 6 hours per day), 5 days a week. EF are so desperate for staff that they need to squeeze every drop out of each employee. [i][u] I'm not even taking into consideration all the additional time spent on lesson planning and preparation. In addition to this there are meetings and admin tasks which take up a large portion of our lunch breaks and take place most days before and after work.

Saturdays or Sundays are spend playing tour guide and taking large groups of students (30+ with one Activity Leader) through crowded London streets. Often the teachers and activity leaders (who are from the continent or other parts of England, have no knowledge of London. Keeping a large group of foreign students in check in one of the world's largest cities, is no mean feat. Let me say that from personal experience, this is not a lot of fun. At no time did we have "lots of beach volleyball and trips to the zoo".

Glad that you don't consider this "work."

Yes, London would be more difficult. You mentioned Hastings, and I know of Bournemouth, Brighton and Jersey.. More beach volleyball in the south of England!
