Hello!

My hubby and I are leaving in a month to spend a year or so traveling around South America. We plan on volunteering with these orgs and wanted to know if anyone has heard of them. Also, while traveling around we plan on scoping the cities for places we may want to settle down and live for a couple of years teaching English -- any advice on finding jobs or if any of you work for a great school that is looking to hire energetic, smart, adventurous, hardworking, caring souls, please let us know! We would love to meet people while coming thru your cities, too. We'll buy you a beer in exchange for great travel advice/sharing of travel tales!

I heard good reports about santamartarescue.org a while ago in another forum - can't find the post now.

peacevillages - don't know anything about this organisation but costs are too high IMO.

It is hard to argue with Ecuadorvolunteer's free volunteer programs.

Never heard of expandperu.org, but they are clear about where the money is going, again looks a good program IMO.
