I got a deal for a bike: 300 won. Basically, the guy is a nice guy so he is giving it to me cheap. Asked about registration. There is none. He got it from a girl who now lives in FUKOKA. So basically I am buying an unregistered bike. Is this a good idea? Anyway to switch the registration over to me? How do Japanese deal with this situation? |

300 won? As in 30 yen? Wow, cheap.
Not sure about registering regular jitensha bikes, but when I changed the ownership on my scooter I went to the ward office and had to get it co-signed by the previous owner. There was a bureau there that handled it (I think it was the same place for car license plates too). Sorry if that's not overly helpful, but I'd say try your ward office. Maybe someone else knows more. |

Perhaps you should change to the Korean forum. |
