Hola,
My boyfriend and I are looking for an apt (preferably furnished and short-term) to rent in Guadalajara while I get my TEFL cert with ITTO.
We were thinking it would be easier to scout one out when we arrive in November. Does anyone have any hot tips? What are the rates these days?
I'm also really interested in finding a place in Tlaquepaque. That town looks neato.
Any info or advice you can spare is much appreciated.
Gracias!

We have a room or house for rent in Tlaquepaque. It is two blocks from the center. The room costs 18 USD a night or if you want to rent the whole house it is 36 USD a night. The house has three bedrooms that we rent out seperatly. It has a shared bathroom, kitchen, dinning room, garden, patio, livingroom and has cable TV. The house is fully furnished. There is one room with two single beds, one room with a double and one with a single bed. The price of 18 USD for a room is per room so if you together in a room you pay 9 USD each.
If you need any more info just let me know.

I would wait until you arrive. Wait until you are face to face, before determining this.

tonydicer is right. Often better to wait if there are several options. On the other hand we had several students that came ofer and thought they could find it on their own and they didnt find anything. I will tell you this is not so easy to find. I think in Tlaquepaque we are the only place that rents out a furnished room for a month. Most of the places that are for rent are not furnished and have a minimum of 6 months. Dont want to scare you just want to let you know. You dont have to pay anything in advance so you can book it and pay when you are here. If you dont like it you dont have to take it and you can look for your self. Another person that is going to do the same course is renting the house in october for the month.
Most of ESLers are unreliable???? How many do you know and how do you know that they are unreliable??? As you being an ESL'er your self are you most of these people???
