I have a job at a certain school and they ask me to fill out a form which asks me many personal questions regardig life outside of teaching, whether I am gay etc. Is this not an invasion of my privacy? I know there would be legal action where I am from if an employer asks that.

Totally normal here, unfortunately. Businesses are allowed to ask all of those personal questions that can't be asked back home. No idea if it's legal or not, but that's how it is. Just be polite, and tell them that it's really none of their business to know.
My wife once took me to a fancy hair salon for a haircut. They wanted me to fill out a three-page form with all of my personal information, likes and dislikes. I asked the hairdresser if I was at a salon or a bank! She didn't get the joke, and insisted that I had to fill out the form if I wanted a haircut. I just made up a bunch of crap and they were happy.
I would have walked out, but then I'd have faced the wrath of the missus...
I'm looking forward to what another poster on this forum is going to say about your posting! |

Dear Readers,
Here is what I will say: Welcome to Asia--namely, TAIWAN.
If you want things to be like they were back home, then there is only one solution. I'll let you figure out what that might be!
Best wishes,
Taylor

Agreed, if you want Taiwan to be a real nation then you must put in the effort to make it that way.
Don't run away like a coward, stand up and do the right thing!
Complaining is a good start but it is only the beginning. Challenge the corrupt and racist culture that continues to be imposed upon the local population (yourself included) by a corrupt and racist occupational authority.
All the pieces are here, just put them together.
Good luck!
