Hi, all:
What is your favorite Vietnamese food? Is it too spice for some of you? |

I quite like Pho Bo and that is never too spicey. I also like the pancake things with the sprouts in them and any seafood is always excellent.
My all time favorite though is the stuffed cuttle fish with wasabi and fish sauce. |

There are also springrolls, both fried and fresh, a lot of good seafood [especially shellfish] as micro points out, chunks of beef with freedom fries, fried rice, frog legs, and numerous other kinds of noodle dishes.

Freedom fries! LMFAO. Think you mean French fries or chips. The Vietnamese aren't into bullsh*t xenophobic Bush-speak... |

yeah, please drop the freedom-fry sh#t . Do you yanks not even know the "french "fry was invented in Belgium???
if you aren't a yank, apologies. if you are, i congratulate you on being one of the TEN PERCENT (!!!!!!!!!) of your population that actually has a passport.
i'm sorry to say that, the vietnamese are one of the most xenophobic races you're going to meet this decade. i don't know whether they actually hate foreigners, but they've certainly got some really messed up ideas about us, and they certainly make a national pass-time out of trying to wind us up. that's northern vietnamese.
heard the south is more foreigner friendly. |

When you consider that , prior to 1975, any foreigners in the country were there with the express purpose of blowing up large areas of it and trying to tell them it was for their own good, it's no wonder they have a slightly skewed opinion of the outside world. Given such experiences, I find the Vietnamese surprisingly friendly to us outsiders. Nothing to do with our wallets of course... |

Mr. Wind-up, is there anything you don't like about Vietnam? I have studied all your postings in this forum and you have nothing negative to say about Vietnam. Rather, you are anti-western culture and ideology.
I believe you are a Vietnamese secret police actively monitoring this forum and trying to promote false image of Vietnam.
According to all your posting in this forum, you have not been teaching here in Vietnam that long and I'm very surprised to find that you know so much about Vietnam.
I'm also surprised to learn that you are already married to a Vietnamese woman and can enjoy good working hours, own flat, car/driver, and maid just by teaching in Vietnam.
And only a year ago you were looking and applying for part-time work at such a prestigious institutions like VATC and RMIT while working at some other school.

MOD EDIT
Has it actually occurred to you that some foreigners ENJOY living here? And yes, 18 months ago I was looking for new jobs, & found two very good, well-paying ones. That's all I'm going to say because it's none of your business how I earn my money. |
