Let me start by saying hello to you all
Im new to the forum for posting but have been a long time reader.
Ok here is my problem
1). Im living in Beijing at the moment with no job
2). I have a RPF for the purpose of study 9+ months left on it
3). Im looking to teach English in Beijing but I dont have a degree but I do have 2+ years teaching English in the UK
4). Im finding it hard to keep turning down working with an F-visa
Is there a way to use the RPF so I can get a FEC?
thanks in advance for youre reply's |

Yes, find a job with a reputable institution with the credentials to hire FTs. They can convert your visa to working status and arrange your FEC if they can convince the authorities of your qualifications. You can't get an FEC on your own so you can freelance. You need to stay legal.

2 possibilities.
If you're person #1. Then please understand that I'm not poking fun nor criticising, just trying to understand your situation more fully.
But, if you're person #2, then GET LOST!
#1. Are you still studying in Beijing? i.e. Will you resume your studies after the summer vacation? But, you also want a job 'on the side', full or part time? You are a non-native speaker without a Degree. You said you have taught English in the UK (where I guess you were also a foreign student...), but you didn't mention if you have an ESL teaching qualification, or not. Do you? And, was that teaching in the UK casual, i.e. just with other international students, or did you work for some kind of real training centre program?
#2. You're some kind of Chinese government worker (PSB???) or work for some Chinese university (FAO or Personnel Dept.???) with many foreign students, and you're just digging for information from the horse's mouth...
If you're #1, sorry I don't have any answers. But, maybe if you clarified those details then people could help you more easily. Oh, but you should keep working on your own English as well...
As I said, if you're #2... GET LOST!

Hey dezgard,
Sorry if my initial post was a bit blunt.
I hope with the extra info you have now given that someone can help you.
Beijing is a good city with many opportunities.
Good luck,

You can not get a FEC with your student RPF. If you get hired by an employer who is legally allowed to hire FT's, the employer should (hopefully) then be able get your student RPF cancelled at the PSB and have a RPF for employment issued.
Your problem may lie in the fact that Beijing is saturated with foreigners and that without a degree and no TEFL training, you will have a difficult time finding legal employment. Are you willing to consider working in a smaller and/or more remote region/city? |

So if i find an employer all they have to do is go to the PSB cansel the old RPF and change it to a working RPF
So no trip to HK for a Z visa ?
as the Z visa is just to get the RPF |

No matter what visa you hold now, a legitimate employer will arrange your Temporary Residency Permit and your Foreign Expert's Certificate. Your strengths are your teaching experience and China knowledge and your weaknesses are a lack of a degree and TEFL certification.
As noted, the competitive environment there will make securing a post more difficult, but as fall approaches you may be able to latch onto something. Some here have succeeeded in getting an FEC without a degree, while others have been unable to surmount this.
Only a legal and certified employer is going to be able to do this for you, and no visa run would be required. Others may offer to employ you on the wrong visa, but that's not the way to go. So, get online and apply to schools and find one that can arrange the proper papers and acceptable working conditions.
