Hi All.....
I just wrote this out and lost it!!!
I'm moving to mexico in 2 weeks and the school I am working for has offered to help with with Spanish lessons. I'm thinking of going to a language school called Instituto de Idioma y Cultura en Cuernavaca Does anyone know anything about this school or better yet...as anyone ever gone there? I'm just wondering if it's worthe the time, money and hassel.
If anyone has any info/advice regarding it that would be awesome!
Thanks all!

I just did exactly the same thing! Spent ages writing and then somehow managed to delete it all!
Anyway! I was studying Spanish in Cuernavaca about 6 years ago in a school called Centro Bilingue. I would definitely recommend it. The teachers were really good and the school was beautiful with good facilities. I was there for 2 months and I learnt so much that I went from knowing nothing to being better at Spanish than at French which I'd been learning for 10 years!
I had the time of my life there but I was only 18. At this time of year Cuernavaca is full of American university students. I loved it and made loads of new friends and went out a lot, but it was the first time I'd been away from home and I was quite happy in American style bars and clubs. I think now I might find it a bit boring. Having said that, Cuernavaca is a really nice town and there are some beautiful places to visit nearby. I think there are probably plenty of more traditionally Mexican places to go out as well but I just didn't really look for them at the time!
Doing the Spanish course definitely wouldn't be a waste of time anyway. If you make the effort to speak Spanish outside of class then you'll learn really quickly. |

Hi Eloise
Thanks for the info/advice! I really appreciate it. I'm going to be living in Mexico City and only have a week before I need to work so I'll only be in Cuernavaca for that long....at least for now. It's nice and close which is why the school I'm going to be working at suggested it!
have a good one...
