I did a search for this topic in the forum and didn't find anything... I was curious if anyone here has ever worked with Anglo Nannies in Istanbul? I've seen their ads all over the place for nannies and governesses, and while I ain't about to wipe any kid's ass (as a nanny) for a living, the governess position claims to pay 500 pounds sterling a month for homework help, ESL instruction, etc. That is certainly not a salary to cough at, in my humble opinion. Anyone got any inside knowledge on these jobs???

I have worked with them before. It isn't really the agency that is the problem. You really really need experience with kids who have a.d.d before you start working as a nanny here. The parents are sometimes as bad as the kids. Actually, 500 pounds a month isn't very good. I used to get 1000 pounds a month for a live out position, and that was the lowest wage around at that time. Most of my fellow nannies were making at least 400 pounds a week. There was one bird on 1000 pounds a week!
I would negotiate a much higher wage and make sure that you do a couple of days trial with the family. Remember it isn't just about their liking you. It is extremely important that you like them, aswell. If you don't feel comfortable with a family, then say so and get mer to find you another family.
