Now that I've decided where to go for CELTA, what is the most inexpensive way to get there? Should I fly into London, Paris... and take a bus to Prague? Any suggestions?

You could check flights to Frankfurt. It's a pretty cheap and easy international hub.

There are trains Frankfurt-Prague.
Also flights.

Try Aer Lingus via Dublin. Depending on travel dates, you can get there from Chicago or New York for less than $600. I flew on them last year and the service was pretty good.

I doubt it will save you much money. Furthermore trains in Germany can be expensive unless you have a "Wochenende Karte" or the German rail pass that is equivalent to the Eurorail pass.

I pay just under 100 euro Frankfurt-Prague on the train. I agree, it isn't cheap, but it's cheaper than most flights. And Frankfurt is a connection from North American offering some pretty low-cost options. Condor, Air TransAT.....

Ashleyzz,

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Try www.condor.com. They're a charter airline owned by Lufthansa and have cheap non-stop flights from Vegas to Frankfurt. (You're in L.A., right?) You'll pay under $450 one-way. I've paid as little as $325 one-way before. Flights back are even cheaper. My wife and I flew back last November for 77 EUR each!! Generally, it pays to wait until the last minute to book your flight.

The planes are great, the service is good but please, do yourself a favor and bring some extra food along with you. They're a bit skimpy in that department.

The airline does fly to Prague, after connecting in Frankfurt, but it's still cheaper to take the train from Frankfurt instead. Normally you'd pay 100 EUR from Frankfurt(Main)Hbf to Prague but by booking your train ticket (and reserving a seat!!) two-weeks or more in advance at www.bahn.de (just click on the 'international guests' tab at the top of the page for English) you'll pay from 39 to 59 EUR. The train will take you to Praha-Holesovice station. From there it's an easy 10 minute metro ride to the heart of Prague.

Good luck in Prague, that's where I got my start and I loved every minute of it.
