Has anyone got any information or advice about finding ESL jobs in North Cyprus? İ'm currently teaching in Ankara but İ've decided to move to Turkish Cyprus this winter. İ have looked ALL OVER the internet but can't find any schools who are hiring until 2007. İ've got contact info for all the universities but İ'm also interested in applying to some private language schools. Since İ'm in Turkey İ wouldn't even mind phoning some schools. Any thoughts? |

Hi - just to help. There is loads of work in NCyprus - you may have seen the ad. for Lefke university recently on Dave's? It's a very small, but pretty town about 60km from Nicosia (Lefkosa) Also in Kyrenia (Girne) on the coast, there is a university that always needs teachers.
My recommendation is to make the trip, starting in Lefkosa, that also has loads of schools and colleges, and work from there.
Hope that helps! Bear in mind though that the accom. is very expensive and has been pushed up by Brits and other retirees buying all the property. I paid 200 pounds a mo for a flat. You'll earn maybe $1,200 tops in a university. |

The word is that you can get a job in North Cyprus. Best to go and negotiate face-to-face.
They may want to check how many heads you have. |
