|
|
I recently posted my resume on this site and have received a few responses so far. All my responses I got were from countries I am not interested in (not the one suggested on the title to my resume).
Is anyone else getting the same kind of responses?
I understand that this is out of the control of this site. I just wish that the people who respond are from my country of interest. |

I think the employers who use this site are sketchy. |

The one time I posted my resume on this site I specifically said "no recruiters". Every response I got was from a recruiter. One seems to be so good that she can bypass my block sender list. |

I think it may be best to post your resume on more than one site or post on a site that specializes in your country of interest, you may get a better response this way. |

Unfortunately the internet is littered with smooth operators you'd rather not have too much to do with. Same goes for the TEFL industry, especially as found on Dave's. (Don't get me wrong: I love this site, but so does everybody else.)
While posting your resume online can give you more exposure, do continue to approach schools you are interested in. If they're not advertising, you may not find them. Google English schools in the country where you want to work and approach them.
By the way, one site where I did have some positive approaches iswww.tefl.com. |

My favorite responses (note the sarcasm) are from companies trying to get you to join their sales teams even though there's nothing in your resume indicating either an interest in, or experience in, sales. |

Wow Chancellor! That's a first. I never heard of that kind of response. I am not surprised though.
Kuberkat: I will try that link. Thanks. Also, as you mentioned its best to physically approach the schools. Currently, I am in a different country. I would like to have a potential job lined up prior to going. Obviously, I will still need to check it out prior to signing anything. |

I don't get very many responses when I send out a resume with a teflwatch email address. I don't know why?
My best repsonse is from Hall of Shame schools. Well, they respond, but they don't offer me a job. |
