Does anyone know anything about the English language program at the Emirates Training College? I've applied and been interviewed for the "Training Officer-Languages" position already and wanted to know more about the place: students, colleagues, environment...

I've seen openings for this position on and off for the past 2 years and I'm not sure if that's a good sign or not!

I have never heard anything about the place - good or bad- but a friend also applied recently but again the housing was an issue - only DH3500 offered as a utilities allowance which is too low in Dubai so she never persued it further and they said they would only discuss possible salary at the interview. But getting the benefit package in advance was good so that time was not wasted all round. So lets hope the salary they offer is high enough to make up the shortfall in what one would have to make up in rent....unless you have your own accomodation already ??....and you do get the benefit of all those cheap flights !

Yes, I must admit it's nice to have an idea of the whole package before the interview. I believe that including all allowances, the total monthly salary amounts up to around 8000 AED, which could be low taking into account rent in Dubai.

Ouch! that is a really low salary and not much benefit having those free flights if you have no money to go anywhere..... Are you thinking of taking it if they offer you a position? Even IAT would give you a better salary including the housing allowance, or why not try HCT they will be finding it difficult to fill those positions in Madinat Zayed ....and in Abu Dhabi if all these extra students come who have been offered places .
