Right, first off i wanted to say I've already found most of the info i need on this site, so thanks to all of you who have posted so much helpful info.

Basically, my situation is:

Been teaching 2 years in czech rep, qualified etc - gonna go to Bangkok in October with about 30,000Baht in my pocket, look for job and flat and enjoy some sun for a change. From what ive read here, that's a pretty reasonable plan?

What i'm wondering is:

a) Anyone know the cheapest way of travelling from Czech to Thailand?

b) Whats the situation on flats there? Is it normal to get your own, or is it possible to find a place to share with other expats?

Yeah, i know these queries aren't directly related to teaching, but like I said, I've already found all of that on this site!

Cheers!

Apartments are really easy to find in Bangkok.

You can rent a small furnished studio with air, TV & hot water

for around $200 per month; that's roughly 7 or 8,000 Baht.

If you're on a budget, you can find studios in less than perfect locations

(meaning not directly on the Skytrain) for as little as 3 or 4,000 Baht.

I pay 5,500 per month and live comfortably, for what it's worth.

For temporary accommodation right off the airplane,

have a scroll through these hotels & guesthouses:
