Although I did not work "as a teacher" for this college, I did do an undercover stint for the Canadian Cultural League, an organization always in search of new "culture". In the bogus role of "culture expert", I found that during my time at the university, the "College of Culture" had little resembling any currently known definitions of culture. Students ate in large mess halls or out of little plastic bags; campus life consisted of CCP meetings and the odd amateur rock band performance; and teachers were forbidden from discussing anything that might harm the current "culture pause" here in China while the economy and money take precedence.

My report concluded that no culture would likely be found at the institution even if I were to be assigned for another year. All that was discovered were a group of largely disaffected youth uncomfortable in the shadows of boring banners strung up between intellectually numb departments of national development.

It seemed that my assessment made many angry back at H.Q.. I am still in China; and to add insult to injury, I am now in the demoted position of "English Teacher". I hope to make a recovery sometime soon.
