Antiquity had it and so do we today ... peolpe burying belongings that apparently define their life alongside their corpse ...

A fireman with his helmet ... a fisherman with his rod & tackle ...

What will you take to the grave with you ...

You know that such things as fresh ginger, coriander, a coconut milk are becoming more commmon in the 'bul these days, so all we need is some lemon grass (which baba alex's baba brought on his holiday), and we can make our own Thai red curry paste.

I won't be getting buried, I shall be cremated, then wrapped in my towel and thrown in the Mersey.

Yaramaz, round the corner from you.. . I've just walked down Ergenkon Cad. and on the corner of the street before Kurtulus Cad there is a manav selling both.. alternatively the makro in Kanyon sells red and green thai curry paste.

Spanks, dmb. I shall venture out that way this week.

Hey, has anyone tried that new Indian place near the electrıc company in Taksim, run by the Yeditepe prep teacher from Manchester? Yum. Best chicken tikka in ages.

If 'ghat' cremated you can be sure parts of you wouldn't turn to ashes ... so we'd have bobbing around the Mersey the morsels the crows, buzzards and dogs couldn't finish up ...

Not quite as romantic as a red-rose floating gracefully away ... but not far off ...

The Tansaş in Beşiktas and the Migros in Cadde Bostan have both. IN Tansaş they've got stick blenders going for 20 YTL (bargain), so you can make your own curry pastes.
