				| Hello,
This is something of a follow-up to a post I made in the Czech forum, but I wanted to run it by the people with experience in Russia.

I'm a 24 year old guy who is seriously considering doing a September TEFL certification course in Prague in September. I have studied the Russian language for a few years (though you probably wouldn't know it from speaking with me!) and am hoping to end up working in Russia or a Russian-speaking area to strengthen my fluency. St. Petersburg is what I have in mind so far. I know schools in Russia generally start in September; will I be at a severe disadvantage if I don't arrive until October? Also, any thoughts on the necessity of a CELTA cert versus a more general TEFL cert in regards to finding work in the Russian speaking world?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

				| I'm English and based in Saint-Petersburg. Me and some other expat friends got a bit tired of private schools messing us around - paying low wages, imposing rules, of thinking up dodgy contracts! So, we've created a teacher's collective to provide info, advice...and some extra teaching hours for EFL teachers. If you'd like to meet up and get involved then definitley contact me.

I love some of the posts from *English* teachers on this site.

Or more appropriately, perhaps you were interested in being a student at such a school?
