Thrifty,

Forget about the threads for awhile. Summer is the warmest, sexiest time of year, and you live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Go out and enjoy it!

If summer continues being 'warm' like it was last week, I'd rather stay inside.... Mad

unfortuntely the interesting threads get locked whereas the most boring grind on as nauseum ;question how many individual posters apart from dmb baba alex entrails and one or two minor celebreties contributed to that 90 aodd page horror story . But it still rolls on ,its difficult to beleive thats all this forum has become just a football chat club for a small clique heaven forbid anything pertaining to why we are employed here is discussed .I think I have mentioned this before now which one of the aforementioned group will take the bait first ?????????

I've seen 2 dead dolphins in the Bosphorous over the last week ... a one-eyed fisherman I chatted with at Rumeli Feneri reassured me they were doing nothing to harm the animals .. "it's the dolphin's fault" he said "they just keep swimming into the nets" ...

I just saw on South Park the other day, Cartman says 'If dolphins are so smart, why do they keep getting caught in those nets?'

But if that fisherman was so smart, how did he lose an eye?

It's been a bumper dolphin sighting season ... saw a third one yesterday .. it was dead too ...

Perhaps the fisherman lost his eye trying to pick his nose before putting down his fishing hook .. or perhaps a dolphin attacked him ... if I get up that way again this summer I'll ask him ...

There seems to be a bit of bother in a place called the middle east that seems to have slipped this forums attention .Anybody care to express an opinion of the eventual outcome or the possibility of a wider conflict developing into another war of biblical proportions ?

I think Lola and her peeps went a bit medieval on their dolphin asses while I was away. The lady at the kedi pansyon said that Lola went out most nights quite late and returned only in the morning, stinking of raki, raw fish/water mammal sushi, and mockingly imitating dolphin squeaks. Cats can be so cruel.

Yes, everything seems to be going to hell at the moment in this part of the world, and l can't see an end to it unfortunately. It is a very sad time that we live in. Lets just hope that Turkey changes its mind on sending forces into Northern Iraq. Oherwise, we might return to the hay days of late 2003 here in little old Istanbul.

Re the dolphins...perhaps the jellyfish are attacking them Shocked

Of course. Anything for an old git. I was refering to the bombing of a couple of synagogues, the British Consulate and the HBSC bank across from Metro City. Although these were not PKK attacks, l am sure that we will see something of the like if the Turkish armed forces pop over into Northern Iraq.
On a different note, l don't think we need to play the "I've been here longer than you game".
