I would appreciate any comments positive or negative, from anyone who may have in the past had dealings with Dear Emily of Shijiazhuang International Exchange Center. Thank you in advance for any assistance. |

besides the recruiters: good or bad point... If you're going to deal with one, make sure that it is a recruiter with an actual office where you can go and find them if needed.
I have known 3 people that were handled by "Emily", for two of them (a canadian and an Australian)... it was an absolute disaster. Broken promises of private apartments, non-payments, firing just before the contract ended to avoid paying the airfare and the list can go on and on. Most people in SJZ will tell you to avoid her like the plague as far as placement and teaching jobs go.
The third person was shipped to handan in a school that was pretty much crap. he somehow managed to stick with it for one year but did not get any help or whatsoever from Emily in reference to his problems.
That said, I've only met her once in person and she was pretty nice to chat with. |

The contact I first had with Emily was when one of her goons stopped me on the street in Shijiazhuang and offered me a job. When I told him I had a job, he persisted and followed me down the street until I had to get angry.
I then met a Filipino that she had poached from his legit school, offering him a better salary and a good home for his family. The school she put him in had no permit for a foreign teacher which ended up with him and his entire family getting deported.
Do not touch this woman or her agency with a barge pole. |
