				| ok, so i've read a lot about how dangerous and intimidating the bus system is in guadalajara. For those of you living in the city or familiar with it, what modes of public transportation do you prefer (in terms of reliability, safety, convenience, etc.)?
 Thanks!

				| The busses there are only dangerous if you choose to stand in front of one moving at 50 kph.
They are tricky to learn, with overlapping routes and express busses and milk runs being labelled with the same numbers and a letter (A, B, C, or D) to tell which is which.

I found taxis to be a little pricey compared to other Mexican cities. The subway is cheap, but doesn't cover much of the city.

You'll do fine with the busses.

				| It's just a matter of learning where they go. So give yourself an extra hour the first day yo commute here. But they are confusing at fist. From downtown, for example, there are lines 258, 258a, 258b, up to D. They all go to slightly different places.
Regarding danger, I've never had a problem on a Guadalajara bus.

Regarding inconvenience, the problem isnt the bus system, it's the city's confusing layout.

If you have a specific place you need to go, PM me and I'll try to come up with good directions for you.

				| Public transport is really ok here. There is a bus book that you can buy and this helps a little bit. You can find it in the better bookstores and it is called "Rutas de Camiones" and is from Super Transporte Guia.
