hello everyone, I have recently applied for residency here, and the immigration office told me to go abroad to renew my 90 days and then go through with it as it takes 45 days to precess. Last time I went to Slovakia, the border guard rejected me and told me I was illegal although the immigration office tells me that I am legal and that I should do it!!!
Does anyone recomend a country whose guards wont give me trouble?
Slovakia wont do it for me this time after the last hassle.
Thanks all in advance.

Have you considered leaving the EU? LIke Ukraine, perhaps?
Exactly how the new countries fit into Schengen isn't really clear, so you may have different interpretations from different supervisors.
Another option is to ask immigration to grant you an extension.
just a thought. |

I remember having the airport guy in Katowice tell me that (as an American) I can only stay in the *EU* for 90 days at the time, according to Poland's regulations.
That being said, I had an American buddy do his run to Slovakia. Since that's not an option, I'd suggest Ukraine. |

There's also our Northern neighbours of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania. And they're very nice. |

I take it you're not an EU national. Doing the 90 day thing usually works but if you don't, God help you. A friend was returning to the US to get the work permit/visa but as he hadn't been out of the country for 6 months, they stamped his passport as no return for one year |

Temporary Residence:
Apply to Consulate.
the above are the printed words of instruction from one official looking web site. Also, a couple of weeks ago i read in a Canadian government site that for business people who need to stay longer than 90 days in Poland, they need to apply for an extension prior to two weeks before the end of the 90 days. That the approval for said extension is highly subjective and not clearly delineated in the governmental regulations. Thus, mind your manners, articulate some good reasons and be ready for any answer. Comment: There's got to be a better way to stay longer than 90 days without having to leave the country ! |
