Does anybody know anything about teaching online by e-mail and audio chat? I heard this can be a good part time job.
Please get back to me if you know of any good agencies?
Thanks |

NOVA does this. To set up such a venture yourself will be expensive. Assuming you live in Japan, you will not have problems with time-schedules (say, between Japan and your office in New York or London). |

I believe you get hired by NOVA and work out of their offices. I don't know for sure. Contact NOVA.

Put it this way, if you're expecting to teach over the internet from you home to earn extra money, you have a better chance of being hit by lightning.
NOVA has the multimedia centre in Osaka. The students buy special boxes and hook them up to their tvs etc. Some branch schools also have the hardware for a teacher, but the vast majority is done from the multimedia centre. It's just like working for NOVA, you do you 6-8 lessons etc, but times may vary, as they run almost 24 hours. |

I think he's looking for part-time work, not really Nova MM Center.
My advice, download Skype (sorry JimD) or MSN Messenger, get a Paypal account, and put an advertisement in a free magazine.
I have got a few online lessons this way, and some set-up by a small school I work for part-time. I also teach a 5-year-old using Skype, and she's progressed nicely.
I'd love to offer more advice, but then it could take coin from my pocket, and I'm a bit too greedy for that. |
