What is the latest on accommodation in Doha?

How much would i expect to pay for a nice two bed fully furnished apartment in a decent area?

A decent area? You can find decent compounds and you can find decent buildings, but Doha is an incredible mess. There is building construction everywhere, and road construction is ripping right through some of the older neighborhoods. The relatively quiet and stable areas do not seem to have the type of accom that I think you are looking for. It's a seller's housing market in general, so you need a little luck and good reflexes to get what you want. The cheaper stuff goes fast, and 7-8,000 is the cheaper end of the range.

At those prices it is going to eat into the salary a bit.

I don't really want to pay more than 8000.

I will probably go the compound route.

Why? The price will not be cheaper in a compound... In fact, I would expect that the bargains will have to be searched down outside of the compounds.

I prefer living in a compound as they usually have lots of facilities.

I am not really searching for bargains but something that is reasonable value for money.

I don't want to pay more then 8k but will pay up to 10k.

I guess i will see for myself when i get there.

The company will pay for my accommodation for the first few months so I have time to look around.
