Hi

I don't have an Education degree, BUT i have over 15 years of English teaching experience in South East Asia.

Can i find a good job in The Middle East?

Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks

Jack

Just click on the profile of regular poster Veiled Sentiments and read through some of her myriad of postings/responses to similar types of questions to yours. I'm sure that you'll get the picture there somewhere!

In a nutshell: if you want a job which will provide a comfortable lifestyle for you and your family, and if you do not have a degree, forget it.

Your best bet is to stay in Asia. Even with the required degrees and 10 years of ESL teaching abroad it is was extreamly difficult for me to find a decent job in the Middle East. Well actually I have the job but Iam still waiting for the visa number...

I think this is very true. Stay were you are or possibly try Taiwan or South Korea. Your chances of finding a job in the ME are very slim.

South Korea requires a degree, no matter how experienced you are.

Taiwan, too, requires a degree to work legally.

Experience and passion for teaching are precious, precious things, but unfortunately those little pieces of paper are what most employers are after.

If experiencing the culture is more important than the money, perhaps you might consider volunteering in the region. A teacher will always be appreciated, but being paid is another matter.
