|
|
Hello,
My husband & I are currently teaching in China but are planning to move to Spain in January. We both hold university degrees, although not in education or linguistics. We are both UK nationals and I am half Cuban, so Spanish is my second language. We have completed our TEFL Diploma & by the end of December we would have had 7 months' teaching experience. Neither of us have ever lived in Spain so we need a bit of help.
Our first choice was Barcelona, but it seems there are already too many teachers over there and the market might be a bit saturated. We don't really want to live in Madrid. Is expensive and the weather is horrible, but according to the forum, there is a big teachers'market there! So far, am I right?
What about Valencia? Or Sevilla? My husband wants to improve his Spanish and we want to live near the Mediterrenean. Sevilla feels like a very "Spanish"city and Valencia is near the coast! Advice please!!
Furthermore, what are the chances of obtaining a job in January? I assume the schools start recruiting in September? And finally with our qualifications and so, so experience, we'll we be able to get a good job?
I thank you in advance for all your help. Please if you feel there is anything else we should know, do not hesitate to tell us!
Many thanks,
Ladis |
