I worked in Barcelona- but back in the days when pesetas were used. Am considering moving back there next year.
Have been looking at jobs being offered etc would a salary of 35- 41,000 Euros be sufficient to live on in Madrid/Barcelona? (I have a DELTA plus 8 years experience teaching both overseas and in the UK)
Cheers
PS Did a search but wanted up to date info |

Average TEFL teachers here consider themselves very lucky to get 1500 euros a month over a year, so that's 18,000. 35 to 41,000 is more than enough. |

WOW, that's a lot of money. In my experience even management positions rarely pay more than 2,000 a month. You ARE talking about English teaching, right? |

Qatarchic,
I'd be very dubious about a school which paid that amount of money to a TEFL teacher! My advice to you would be to act with caution |

I guess our awe and envy at your salary answered your question about whether it's enough money Thanks for satisfying my curiousity by explaining what the job was, and good luck. |

CMB u'r welcome
Actually I am not moving yet as my contract here finishes July next year (this job is for September 2006) I was just curious when I heard about the job- hopefully next year there'll be similar positions in Madrid/Barcelona (although I doubt it, as most people tend to renew their contracts) still fingers crossed |
